Mortgage Administrator/assistant

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure that mortgage commitments are set up and maintained in the Loan Management System in accordance with established processes and guidelines
  • Work with Real Estate lawyers to follow up on anticipated mortgage payouts, confirming the receipt of anticipated funds; validate newly registered mortgage and proper searches conducted on mortgage advances.
  • Ensure mortgage/loan files are complete and accurate.
  • Update and maintain various reports for tracking purposes.
  • Prepare and issue various types of statements and documentation.
  • Process mortgage payments and renewals.
  • Follow up on payouts past due; resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
Requirements:
  • At minimum, 1-2 years of work experience in the mortgage administration or lending role, in the financial services.
  • Post-secondary education with focus on mortgages and real estate considered an asset.
  • Very good English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong data entry and basic accounting skills; ability to balance cash and perform calculations.
