Play 107 Edmonton is looking for a Morning News & Surveillance Announcer to join Jake Ryan on the play 107 Morning Show. You'll write and deliver news, weather, traffic, and other timely information in a way that feels conversational, local, and relevant to play 107's audience.



This part-time position could expand over time - with the potential to evolve into a co-host role for the right personality who brings creative ideas, content instincts, and a natural on-air chemistry with Jake Ryan.



You may also contribute to Harvard Media's broader network by voicing updates for additional markets as needed.

Essentials Duties & Responsibilities:

Write, produce, and deliver accurate and engaging news, weather, and traffic updates throughout the morning show. Collaborate daily with Jake Ryan and the play 107 team to maintain an upbeat, listener-focused show. Monitor multiple news and traffic sources to ensure timely and reliable information. Represent play 107 and Harvard Media in a professional, community-minded way at events and on social media. Contribute content ideas and conversation topics for the morning show. Record additional news or surveillance updates for the other Harvard Media stations when required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Strong writing and editorial judgement - you know what matters to Edmonton listeners. Confident, conversational on-air delivery and a great sense of timing. Experience working with newsroom or broadcast systems Wide, Orbit, SoCast, Burli or similar). Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment. A sense of humour, curiosity, and genuine interest in connecting with the audience.

Essential Requirements:

Knowledge of local Edmonton news, culture, and community. Ability to work early mornings and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. * Play nice in the sandbox.
