Position Summary T
he Mold Setup Technician is responsible for performing mold, tooling, and material changeovers, troubleshooting injection molding machines and processing defects, and providing technical expertise on machine processing and mold set-ups. This role focuses on optimizing machine efficiency while ensuring production meets quality standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities o Perform mold, tooling, and material changeovers, including machine start-ups, lockouts, and shutdowns
Set up molds, tools, and equipment for production processing
Troubleshoot injection molding machines and resolve processing and quality defects
Provide technical support to Shift Supervisors and production operators
Prepare and follow first-piece inspection procedures to ensure product conformance o Monitor cycle times, part weights, and mold change requirements to ensure adherence to standards
Respond to call lights and assist operators with setup, processing, and quality issues o Perform preventive maintenance on molds and tooling
Conduct audits and monitor parts to ensure quality standards are met
Complete and maintain daily production and audit reports (e.g., mold change reports, setup boards, surveillance audits)
Collaborate with Maintenance, Tooling, and Quality teams to reduce quality-related issues o Work safely and efficiently using required PPE and in compliance with all safety documentation and procedures
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Standardized Work (STW) initiatives o Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Essential:
High School Diploma or equivalent (mathematics and mechanical emphasis preferred)
Strong understanding of mechanical and control functions of industrial machinery o Injection molding experience o
Tool setting and machine setup experience o Computer literacy Desirable: o Technical school training in Mechanical Technology or Junior Millwright certification o Experience in food or packaging manufacturing environments o Power press experience o Stamping operations experience Skills & Competencies o Excellent teamwork and communication skills o Ability to work independently or as part of a close-knit team o Strong organizational and time-management skills o Adaptable with a continuous improvement mindset o Strong problem-solving abilities o Willingness to learn and train others

Pay: Up to $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 55 per week
