Position Overview



The Mold Remediation Technician is responsible for assessing, containing, and safely removing mold contamination in residential and commercial properties. This role involves detailed inspection, setup of containment zones, HEPA vacuuming, chemical treatments, demolition of affected materials, and detailed documentation to ensure full compliance with industry safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct on-site mold inspections and moisture readings. Set up containment zones using plastic sheeting, negative air machines, and air scrubbers. Remove contaminated drywall, insulation, flooring, and other materials following IICRC S520 standards. Clean, sanitize, and deodorize affected areas using approved antimicrobial agents. Operate HEPA vacuums and dehumidifiers to maintain controlled drying environments. Collect and label samples for laboratory analysis when required. Complete daily job reports, before/after photos, and moisture logs. Follow all PPE, safety, and hazard communication procedures. Work closely with restoration supervisors, property managers, and homeowners to communicate progress and safety updates. Assist in reconstruction preparation once clearance testing is complete.

Qualifications



Minimum 1 year of experience in restoration, remediation, or construction (preferred). Knowledge of mold identification, containment procedures, and safe material removal. IICRC AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) or WRT (Water Restoration Technician) certification preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, operate power tools, and work in confined or damp spaces. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. WHMIS and respirator fit-tested (preferred).

Working Conditions



Indoor/outdoor job sites including crawlspaces, basements, and attics. Use of respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, and other PPE required. Possible weekend or after-hours emergency response.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 weeks

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Work Location: In person
