Own the MBSE lifecycle for large naval systems-from concept through sustainment-collaborating with senior systems engineers and technical staff to support technical reviews.
Perform rigorous requirements analysis and traceability using SysML/UML models and the Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
Design and model system architectures with Cameo System Modeler (including Team Work Cloud and OpenAPI), applying model-based techniques to enhance design clarity, maintainability and re-use.
Automate MBSE processes to accelerate model generation, data extraction, and quality checks.
Manage and implement changes to system designs, documenting impact, coordinating change-management activities, and preserving traceability.
Prepare high-quality design documentation and support the entire engineering processes and best practices within the organization.
Work in a multi-disciplinary environment that includes naval weapons, electronics, software, and integration teams.
What you bring to the role
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
5 + years of professional experience in systems engineering (or equivalent).
2 + years of hands-on experience with UML and SysML.
2 + years with Cameo System Modeler, Team Work Cloud, and Cameo OpenAPI.
2 + years of programming experience in Java (mandatory); Python, JavaScript or Groovy (optional).
1 + year familiarity with MOSA/Model Federation, and with modelling frameworks such as UAF, NAFV4, TOGAF, DoDAF, MoDAF, or UPDM.
Proficiency with DOORS (or equivalent) for requirements management.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with Jira.
Ability to read and use APIs and JavaDocs.
Eligibility for NATO Secret clearance (to be obtained in a timely manner).
Strong written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated problem-solving, initiative, autonomy, rapid learning, and adaptability in dynamic settings.
Additional skills desired for the role
OMG SysML certifications (MU, MBF, MBI, MBA).
Experience in version control, configuration control, unit testing, technical writing, and UI/UX design.
Familiarity with software best-practice frameworks
Knowledge of the defense industry and the Systems Engineering lifecycle beyond the basics.
