We are currently looking for experienced Mobile Heavy Duty Mechanics to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our diverse fleet of equipment throughout Quebec. The applicant can reside anywhere in Quebec and will travel throughout the province for Remcan.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment
  • Diagnose and repair all types of equipment
  • Report to the Mechanical Superintendent
  • Complete work orders and equipment log books accurately
  • Source parts and supplies when necessary
  • Work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Assist with other duties as required

REMCAN pays competitive market rates based on experience.
This role is a Safety Sensitive position and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be required. Candidates considered for employment MUST pass all required pre-employment testing and agree to be monitored as prescribed by government rules and regulations governing fitness for duty. As an employee involved in rail operations, impairment in the workplace could result in a significant incident involving the health, wellness, and safety of yourself, your colleagues, and members of the general public.

As a contractor that performs essential railway maintenance and repairs on federally regulated railway rights of way and applicable properties, ALL REMCAN EMPLOYEES MUST meet federal vaccination requirements (2 doses – full vaccination status) and produce supporting documentation.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Extensive experience with hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Work within our safety guidelines
  • Ability to learn and repair all types of equipment
  • Ability to travel and work in remote locations when necessary
  • Class 3 w/ air license would be an asset
  • Experience with railway equipment is an asset
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screening
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
  • Able to work all types of shifts as required
  • Able to work in inclement weather all year round
