Position Overview:

Kaynic Construction is hiring

experienced Mobile Crane & Picker Truck Operators

to join our field operations team. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of various mobile lifting equipment, including:

70 Ton Crane 50 Ton Picker 45 Ton Picker 12 Ton Knuckle Picker
Operators will be responsible for hauling, lifting, and setting equipment and materials in remote and local project sites across Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate cranes and picker trucks (up to 70 Ton) to safely lift, move, and place materials and equipment. Perform pre-operational inspections and hazard assessments. Read and interpret lift plans and load charts. Set up cranes using appropriate blocking, levelling, and stabilization techniques. Communicate effectively with riggers, swampers, and site crews. Secure loads and ensure compliance with weight restrictions and transportation laws. Complete logbooks, job documentation, and electronic logs (ELD) as required. Participate in daily safety meetings and uphold all OH&S, company, and client safety standards.

Qualifications:

Valid

Class 1 Driver's License

and clean commercial abstract.

Alberta Journeyman Mobile Crane / Boom Truck Ticket

(Red Seal preferred). 3-5+ years of experience operating large picker trucks and mobile cranes. CSTS 2020, First Aid, and H2S Alive (preferred). Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance. Ability to read rigging diagrams and perform complex tandem lifts. Experience with building placement or structural picks is an asset. Physically fit and capable of working in all weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

Frequent travel to field and client sites; occasional overnights or extended periods away from home. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb onto trailers, and work around heavy equipment. Work may include overtime, weekends, and shift rotation depending on project needs.
