Position Overview
As a
Mitigation Technician
at
BELFOR
, you'll play a critical role in emergency response and property restoration -- helping families and businesses recover from water, storm, and other damage-related events. You'll work hands-on to assess, mitigate, and restore damaged properties while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
This role requires
strong technical and organizational skills

supervise
sites, manage contents, and
accurately document work using mobile devices
and reporting software, including
HYDRO reports
.
What You'll Do
Perform water mitigation, drying, dehumidification, and structural cleaning following
IICRC S-500
Standards.
Complete
moisture mapping
, readings, and
HYDRO reports
accurately using your mobile device.
Conduct
content handling
, including pack-out, cleaning, storage, and return of customer property.
Lead or support on-site activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely according to project scope.
Oversee small teams or subcontractors when assigned, maintaining clear communication and workflow on-site.
Document damages, drying progress, materials removed, and job site conditions through photos and detailed notes.
Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment -- ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and readiness for deployment.
Promote a safe working environment by performing hazard assessments, following PPE requirements, and adhering to company and regulatory safety standards.
Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, project managers, adjusters, and team members
Support company standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction on every project.
What You'll Bring
High School Diploma or GED
(required).
Minimum
1-2 years of experience
in restoration, water mitigation, or related trades (preferred).
IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT)
certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to use mobile apps or digital tools to capture photos, readings, and job documentation.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced and emergency environments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license
and a clean driving record (required).
Availability for on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends when needed.
