Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. is currently seeking part-time Minor Officials to join our team!
The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Timing and scoring of recreation and competitive basketball games;
Establishing and maintaining effective, cooperative, and productive working relationships with coaches, players, supervisors, and other employees;
Monitoring the safety of all activities and programs and responding to any safety concerns;
Assisting with schedules and updating scores
Maintaining a strong customer-focused approach when responding to general customer inquiries and resolving any schedule conflicts;
Escalating information to the appropriate internal TPASC staff;
Understand, support and adhere to Company policies, programs, and procedures;
Comply with all legislative requirements (e.g. Occupational Health and SafetyAct, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, etc.) and
Other duties as assigned

What we need from you:
Previous timing and scoring experience with OBA, U Sports, OCAA would be considered an asset
Knowledge of FIBA rules, policies and procedures
Experience using timing and scoring systems including the FIBA scoresheet
Knowledge of the Rules of Pay and timing and scoring specific to volleyball would be considered an asset
Well-developed relationship building skills
Flexibility regarding work schedules; including mornings, nights; and weekends
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
Educational experience: Graduated/enrolled in Recreation & Leisure Studies, Sport Management; or related program an asset
Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C is an asset
Three professional references will be required, and the successful candidate(s) will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Hours of work:
Required to work various shifts which may be in the morning, evening or on weekends.

A legacy of the 2015 Toronto Pan Am and Parapan Am Games, Toronto Pan Am
Sports Centre is operated by a corporation co-owned by the City of Toronto and the
University of Toronto. The world-class facility was the largest sport new-build for the
Games and the largest infrastructure investment in Canadian amateur sport history.
Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre delivers extensive programming that serves recreational and community groups, university students, high performance athletes, as well as fitness centre clientele.
