As a Mine Projects Engineer for Albian Oil Sands Mining, you will take the lead on key infrastructure and mining projects--such as Sharkbite Saline Water Treatment, Mine Haul Roads, River Crossings, and River Diversions. You will drive these initiatives to successful outcomes by meeting schedule commitments, cost targets, and delivering functional, stakeholder-aligned solutions--all while maintaining a zero-incident safety record.


Job location:

Fort McMurray, Alberta - Albian Oil Sands

Shift schedule:

4 x 3, 10-hour shift (Monday-Thursday)

Key Accountabilities:



Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mine infrastructure and development projects--from concept to completion Provide technical support for the design and development of haul roads, river diversions, river crossings, saline water treatment systems, Albian Surface Water plan, and Sand and Gravel Management plans Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules to deliver functional, cost-effective solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mine Operations, Technical Services, Environmental, Regulatory, and Finance Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to maintain schedule and cost performance Deliver consistent project reporting and updates to internal stakeholders and leadership

What You Bring to the Role:



Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering Registered (or eligible for registration) with APEGA 3+ years of experience in mining engineering Proven experience with mine design software (Vulcan and Deswik) Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, engineering principles, and safety regulations Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with tools such as Vulcan, AutoCAD, or Project Management Software is an asset
