De Beers Group has an exciting opportunity to become part of the De Beers Canada Mine Professional-in-Training Program at the Gahcho Ku\xc3\xa9 Mine in the Northwest Territories. This position will support our Engineering Maintenance team in completing project related work. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.

What the Role Entails:

  • Join the world\'s leading diamond company;
  • Work with subject matter experts;
  • Start with an on the job comprehensive 36-to-48-month program.
The role is based within the Engineering and Site Services department. This is a site based position with a 2 weeks in, 2 weeks out rotation.

Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to Members of the Deninu Ku\xc3\xa9, Lutsel K\'e Dene First Nation, North Slave M\xc3\xa9tis Alliance, Northwest Territory M\xc3\xa9tis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation, followed by non-indigenous residents of the Northwest Territories; a resident of the Northwest Territories;
  • A recent graduate with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering with a preference given to those within the Mechanical discipline;
  • Results-driven with a commitment to safe behavior;
  • A positive attitude towards learning;
  • Interested in diverse exposure and working in a team focused environment;
  • Excellent project management, problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of root cause and strategic analysis;
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles with the ability to apply these principles to the reliability and availability of equipment;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters;
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a cross functional business team;
  • Previous mining industry experience is an advantage but not essential; and
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
