to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This opportunity is available for an 8-month, 12-month, or 16-month term, based at the McIlvenna Bay site, operating on a 14/14 rotation schedule starting in May, 2026.

As part of the Mines Technical Services team, the Mine Engineering Co-Op position may be responsible for maintaining a variety of functions, including mine planning and scheduling, surveying, backfill planning, ventilation design and monitoring, ground control, and production or KPI statistics data input/review.

Job Responsibilities:



Support the mine engineering team in developing short-term. Assist with mine design, optimization, and sequencing under the guidance of senior engineers. Assist in monitoring and analyzing production metrics. Contribute to developing production schedules and assist in making adjustments as needed. Provide support in trade-off studies for mining activities. Work closely with engineers to understand drill and blast design principles. Support the implementation of drilling and blasting plans, ensuring safety and efficiency. Contribute to projects aimed at optimizing the performance of mining equipment. Gain exposure to equipment selection. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to safety initiatives. Support surveying activities to monitor mining progress. Conduct underground and surface surveys in addition to installation of survey controls. Learn how to utilize survey data for volume calculations and mapping. Actively seek opportunities for continuous learning and professional development. Contribute ideas for process improvement and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, technicians, and other mine engineering professionals. Engage in effective communication with team members and share insights gained during the co-op. Provide ventilation support and perform weekly ventilation audits and surveys. Attend to other miscellaneous duties reasonable and beneficial as the department requires. Present a detailed project report and a presentation of results and learnings from the work undertaken.

Job Qualifications and Skills:



Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mine Engineering or a related field. Strong academic performance and interest in Mine Engineering. Experience in Windows-based applications and the Microsoft suite of software, as well as basic knowledge of mine planning concepts and software tools, is an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong commitment to safety and a proactive attitude towards learning Effective communication and interpersonal skills Valid Class 5 driver's license.

We offer a competitive salary of

$30-$35/hour

, depending on your year of study and previous experience.
