Our sustainability strategy sets long-term goals to drive improved performance across our activities, including achieving net-zero emissions across our operations.Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Mining, a Mine Engineer is responsible for collaborating with a group of experts to support the mining operations. Working at one of our four steelmaking coal sites in B.C\'s Elk Valley, you\'ll gain experience in dispatch engineering, short-range, long range and mid-range planning, drill and blast engineering, and more.Your flexible schedule will include:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Develop safe, optimized, and credible mine plans that align with our safety culture, sustainability strategy, and environmental commitments, as well as strengthen collaboration, reduce risk, increase shareholder confidence, and integrate with the other business areas
• Execute on a broad range of mine planning, including pit and spoil design, haulage for traditionally operated and autonomous fleets, production scheduling and optimization, and closure designs while considering potential sustainable development impacts
• Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound mining practices
• Perform economic evaluations, productivity analyses, strategic planning assessments, and assist with capital expenditure documentation
• Integrate water quality, biodiversity goals, community values and Indigenous perspective supporting sustainable mine planning and Industry stewardship
• Help with the development, tracking, and reporting of compliance to mine permits

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Mining Engineering
• Minimum four years in the mining industry
• Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite\xc2\xae
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
