Job Description

Acadian Seaplants Limited is seeking a Red Seal Millwright for our production facility located in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.

As a Millwright with Acadian Seaplants, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. This position includes being on call weekends and nights on a rotational basis.

Your Role:

Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Assisting in daily maintenance activities and installation of new equipment. Troubleshooting and carrying out repairs on mechanical equipment. Providing support to other plant personal through reporting, assisting and timely follow- ups on repairs and preventive maintenance. Administering a daily log and enters all info for every work order completed. Support the Company's core values of safety, team work and value creation for One Acadian, our customers, communities and the planet.
Qualifications/Competencies:

Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility; Red Seal Millwright certification is preferred. Demonstrated ability to pay high attention to safety. Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with mechanical equipment. Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills and experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System is a definite asset. Work is frequently done using mobile lift equipment and is occasionally done in confined spaces; must have training, or be willing to be trained in Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform and Confined Space. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
