We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Millwright to ensure the smooth operation of our facility and contribute to our commitment to quality and excellence in animal feed production.

Position Overview

As a Millwright at FFM, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of our equipment and machinery, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our feed mill. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will have supervisory responsibilities over a team of maintenance technicians. Your role will also encompass planning and overseeing maintenance projects and mentoring apprentices and technicians to ensure the continued growth and development of our maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all mill equipment. Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support. Plan and oversee maintenance and repair projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. Mentor and provide on-the-job training to apprentices, fostering their skill development. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and complete work orders. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment. Implement safety protocols and ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations. Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Millwright in an industrial setting, preferably in a feed mill or similar environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call when necessary. HACCP will be considered an asset.
