Our facility in Burlington Ontario has been in operation since 1975.
Our primary products out of this location are Wound Distributed Gap Cores, Mitre and Butt Lap Laminations, Logs and Fully Assembled Cores, Steel Sales, Custom Slitting and warehousing for Tempel Steel's Laminations.
Work Schedule
: 12 hour continental rotation (days and nights)
Responsibilities:
Installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of industrial mechanical equipment and associated presses, ovens, Slitter, dies, and conveyors.
Some familiarity with PLCs. Mainly Siemens and Allen Bradley troubleshooting
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Disassembles and repairs defective mechanical equipment or systems.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical or electromechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on hydraulic, pneumatic, motorized and mechanical production tools, machines and production lines.
Utilize diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Good fabrication, machine shop and welding skills.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Assist in machinery improvements and new equipment installation and construction
Engage in electrical trouble shooting and electrical designs
Modify drawings for basic equipment modifications revision
Maintain the maintenance stock room for electrical and mechanical parts and reorder
Work is assigned on basis of priority
Communicate with Supervisors the issues
Other Duties / Special Projects as assigned by the Production Supervisor
Lockout equipment when deemed necessary
Follow the hot work instructions
Operate a lift truck
Operate the scissor lift
Operate maintenance equipment
Perform daily or prescribed inspections on designated equipment
Comply with all work instructions, procedures, policies, rules, Slitter Control Plan if applicable, and manuals (Quality Management System, Evacuation procedure, Security and Health and Safety) issued by Tempel Burlington
Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that are required by Tempel Burlington or the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (section 27).
Report to the supervisor or department head any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation or Tempel Burlington regulations or the existence of any uncontrolled hazards
Welding of items (Construct, repair, and modify any type of apparatus)
Ensure compliance and commitment to the effectiveness of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements during daily operations
Required Qualifications:
Licensed 433A Industrial Millwright and electrical troubleshooting skills (dual ticket would be an asset)
At least 3-5+ years mechanical maintenance technical experience in a manufacturing environment - ideally in the metal processing or high-volume fabrication
Strong written and spoken communications skills in English
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Lift truck (will have to successfully complete training if required, perform lift truck inspections and be competent)
Good mechanical abilities
