2:30 pm to 11:00 PM

Job Purpose:

The Millwright will play a crucial role in supporting the team within our highly technical fabrication facility. They will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced CNC machinery, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, and various other highly automated systems. By applying their expertise, the Millwright will contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment, helping to drive the success of our fabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:



Installation and Maintenance:


oInstall, assemble, and maintain advanced CNC machines, robotic systems, and PLC-driven equipment.
oEnsure machinery and equipment are running efficiently by conducting regular preventative maintenance.
oRead and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to complete installations and repairs.

Troubleshooting and Repair:


oDiagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues on complex machinery.
oUse diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify root causes and resolve problems.
oPerform emergency repairs and ensure minimal production downtime.
oCalibrate machines, adjust settings, and align components to meet production specifications.

Safety and Compliance:


oAdhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the safe operation of all equipment.
oConduct regular inspections to identify hazards, and ensure equipment meets regulatory and safety standards.
oParticipate in the development and updating of maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

Continuous Improvement:


oCollaborate with the engineering team to enhance machine efficiency and performance.
oProvide recommendations for process improvements, machine upgrades, and maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and productivity.
oParticipate in cross-functional teams to support lean manufacturing initiatives.

Documentation:


oMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
oLog all work completed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
oTrack inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring critical parts are available when needed.

Collaboration and Communication:


oWork closely with the operations, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure machinery is aligned with production goals.
oProvide training and mentorship to apprentices or junior technicians as required.
oCommunicate clearly and promptly with supervisors and production teams regarding equipment status and repairs.

Education and Experience:


oHigh School Diploma/GED, College (Trade School), and on-the-job training.
o5 years relevant experience in a highly technical or automated manufacturing environment.
oRed Seal or Journeyman Millwright Certification or Equivalent; additional certifications in PLC programming, automation, robotics, or CNC maintenance an asset.
oMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
oFamiliarity with CMMS systems for tracking work orders and maintenance activities.
oProficient in English, with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
oExposure to a manufacturing environment with potential hazards such as noise, moving machinery, and industrial chemicals.
oMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform tasks in confined spaces or elevated positions.
oOccasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet productions schedules and to support a three-shift operation.

Specialized Skills:


oProficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
oProven experience working with advanced fabrication equipment, including CNC machinery, robotics, and PLC-controlled systems.
oStrong background in troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
oStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
oHands-on experience with robotic systems and automated manufacturing technologies.
oExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
oAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
