We recognize and value the health and sustainability of the individual, the product offering, and the environment.We are currently seeking a full-time Millwright Apprentice at our 45,000 square foot production facility just off Hwy 36 in Lindsay, Ontario.PLEASE NOTE: YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK SHIFTS ON A ROTATING BASIS/WEEKEND. MORNING SHIFTS START AT 8:00 A.M. AND AFTERNOON SHIFT TYPICALLY STARTS AT 2:30 P.M. On Call on Weekend RotationDUTIES:

• Responsible for Mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, installation and preventative maintenance on all production equipment/machinery
• Provide Mechanical support and maintenance/repair for building support systems.
• Maintain contact and communication with Supervisor and co-workers in order to ensure and report progress.
• Respond to and complete service calls in an efficient manner.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory codes and requirements, company policy and procedural guidelines. Remain aware of, and trained on, all technical advances within the area of responsibility.
• Work in a safe manner, utilizing proper tools and equipment for the task.
• Identifies and reports unsafe conditions / near misses and accidents in a timely manner
• Utilize proper waste disposal procedures.
• Applies a methodical approach to problem solving/diagnosing of mechanical/electrical issues
• Identifies and coordinates improvements to address down time or efficiency issues
• Assist and support the department in achieving and maintaining budgetary and performance goals.
• Installs, maintains and services compressed air, water and exhaust ducting to robotics, pumps, presses, compressors, turbines, material-handling systems, gearboxes and other machinery
• Uses precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators and micrometers
• Uses machine tools such as lathes and milling machines and fabrication tools such as welders
• Welding skills that properly utilize various welding and cutting equipment an asset
• Other duties, as assigned

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be registered in an approved Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) \xe2\x80\x93 433A apprenticeship program with Skilled Trades Ontario AND have passed Level 1 of in-school training OR have a minimum of 2000 hours of documented apprenticeship employment experience.
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude
• Problem solving skills and good communication skills are required
• Strong people skills - approachable, a good listener and empathetic
• Previously worked in a manufacturing environment\xe2\x80\x93 Food manufacturing experience an asset
• Dedicated to the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues
• Digest and accept constructive feedback as an opportunity to listen and improve your skills and performance
• Must be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs as needed
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to read and discern Mechanical schematics and manuals effectively.
• Must possess strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and time management skills.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair an asset.
• Open to call ins and off hours work for downtime repairs
