We are looking for a Mill Stores Inventory & Purchasing Team Leader to join our Athascasca OSB mill, located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.



Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:


Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) and Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation

through the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA), or equivalent. Experience

leading purchasing and inventory in support of maintenance and operations

teams.

3-5+

years' experience managing large inventory needs

focusing on inventory optimization and accurate cycle counting.

Solid understanding of manufacturing operations

, the application and maintenance of forest industry equipment, certification for transportation of dangerous materials. General understanding of

accounting and strong negotiating skills

. Strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for the small details. Proven experience in leading and mentoring team members in an inventory and purchasing environment. Experience working in a

manufacturing environment

and ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

In this role you will:


Be responsible for inventory and non-inventory buying function encompassing the receiving, warehousing, issuing and analysis of inventory and non-stores related materials required in the operation. Take responsibility for the management of the division's materials and operating supplies inventory level and accuracy. Work within budgets, meet time deadlines and ensure that materials and supplies are both cost effective and available when needed. Negotiate fair and equitable pricing and by encouraging good relations with suppliers', contractors, and sales representatives. Manage the 100% cycle count program for the division and proactively managing overstock. Responsible for collaborating with planning and maintenance to optimize inventory usage and remove dead stock. Responsible for the development, recommendation and implementation of a departmental business plan that will improve performance, efficiencies and overall manning and operational cost savings. Develop annual operating budget by surveying each department and establish their upcoming years' needs and pricing their requirements. Ensure appropriate internal approvals are obtained from end users for purchases and records are kept for audit purposes. Partner with departments across the mill to deliver excellent customer service. Operate in a safe manner in accordance to work safe rules, regulations, and policies.
