About Hillfield Strathallan College

Founded in 1901, Hillfield Strathallan College (HSC) offers a seamless academic journey from 18 months to 18 years. Located on a 50-acre campus on Hamilton's West Mountain, HSC provides a unique educational pathway for students through four school offerings: Junior, Montessori, Middle and Senior. HSC prepares students to live with purpose - to understand their world, inspire, lead, act and make a difference in their own unique ways.


Hillfield Strathallan College is currently recruiting for the following:

Grade 5 Teacher

- LTO beginning middle of January until end of June 2026.

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Principal of the Middle School, the teacher is responsible for:

Exploring and promoting research-based best practices in short and long term curriculum planning Lesson delivery and differentiation Evaluation, assessment and documentation of student progress and learning outcomes Communicating with parents of students Applying appropriate and current teaching methodologies Implementation and integration of instructional technology Working collaboratively with colleagues Middle School duties and contribution to the extracurricular life of the College


Qualifications

An undergraduate degree in English, Humanities and/or Physical Education or related disciplines. An Ontario Teachers' Certificate or equivalent and Honours Specialist qualifications. An AQ in Physical Education, or related experience/education considered an asset A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience. May be required to teach other subjects. The ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
