The work location is in

Nunavik

and the normal work schedule is

11 hours

per day on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks for rest.

RESPONSIBILITIES


The Heavy Equipment Trainer reports to the General Foreman - Surface Services. Their main responsibilities include:

Taking responsibility for the training and evaluation of all employees operating heavy equipment and/or driving service vehicles, with 70% of their time spent in the field. Identifying training needs based on technical improvements to equipment or vehicles. Developing training plans according to the standards and specifications of various equipment and vehicles. Participating in the creation of training materials (technical documentation, audio-visual aids, etc.) and defining the instructional methods and tools necessary for the training. Ensuring the proper execution of training sessions and their quality. Collaborating on the drafting of internal policies and procedures, as well as Safe Work Procedures (SWP) related to their area of expertise, particularly regarding the northern road code and the use of heavy equipment and service vehicles. Producing reports and statistics required by the training department.

Qualifications

A recognized diploma certified by Emploi Quebec, Trainer accreditation. 5 to 10 years of experience as a trainer; experience in the mining sector is an asset. Knowledge of trucks (lowbed, tanker, fuel truck, sand spreader, water truck, bus, etc.). Knowledge of heavy equipment (775 and 770 trucks, 990 and 980 loaders, and all other equipment used); Multiple certifications (Lockout/Tagout, aerial platform, confined spaces, working at heights, working in cold conditions, harness use, overhead crane, etc.). Valid Class 1 driver's license. Mechanical knowledge (an asset)

Assets

Accredited training in mine rescue and first aid in the workplace. Experience in the mining sector in northern Quebec. Due to frequent interactions with french-speaking team members, bilingualism (French/English) is an asset to facilitate and improve internal communications;
