BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Metrologist. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Dartmouth, NS.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing analytical and laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration, and coordinating maintenance and calibration performed by outside vendors and contractors.
• Working directly with QC staff to provide education in the proper or optimal use of analytical instrumentation and analytical techniques.
• Writing training SOPs, calibration work instructions, quality control procedures, cGMP protocols and reports.
• Working with Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager to setup instrument identifications, schedules and work plans.
• Ensuring that all instrument qualification, calibration and change control is properly documented and filed.
• Following the company\'s quality standard (quality management system procedures and cGMP regulations).

The successful candidate for this position should have:

• Bachelor of Science, Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Three years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing analytical instrumentation.
• Knowledge of analytical methodology including: IR, UV, NMR, GC, HPLC and KF, biological assays, electrophoresis.
• Knowledge of relevant analytical computer systems and software.
