Job Description


The Edmonton Police Service is seeking a highly organized and competent individual to analyze the data captured in the CORITY disability management and safety and health suites, thereby crafting meaningful reports that drive forward strategic and operational objectives. This position entails not only the analysis of existing data but also the facilitation of discussions with Branch and Human Resources Division (HRD) leaders to determine the actionable insights that can be derived from the data. Moreover, this position will play a significant role in identifying trends and areas for strategic intervention within the Branch and across HRD and divisions. This will involve mastering the use of predictive analytics embedded within the CORITY system to ensure that actions taken are truly preventative in nature.

  • Creates visual metrics, dashboards, and other strategic tools, to effectively communicate issues related to member health and wellbeing through clear and insightful data visualizations.
  • Investigates data issues, analyzes data accuracy, adherences to policy, and provides recommendations for changes and improvements.
  • Assesses, evaluates, and proposes system and process/policy changes; reviews existing reports, processes, gathers new requirements, and validates implications across the organization.
  • Develops systems to track, organize, analyze, and visualize member health, safety and wellbeing data, including the review, assessment and timely dissemination of information and analysis requests.
  • Support the use of data driven organizational/divisional/area wellness to assess outcomes and initiatives across the EPS. Supporting the activity will include ensuring tracking and assessment metrics are built into any use of the dashboards.
  • Support the development of data, statistics and metrics used. This may include reporting on and performing trend analysis outcomes of wellness initiatives.
  • Support facilitation and education within EPS work areas on the merits of using data driven data.
  • Work with business area to facilitate the coordination and collection of date to use for analysis regarding organizational and employee wellness.
  • Support reporting requirements by developing and at times delivering presentations, verbal briefings, and reports to senior leadership regarding current trends and these will assist them in their strategic goals.
  • Attends meetings and workshops as required with other policing agencies to obtain up to date data and relevant information associated with or relevant member health, safety, and wellbeing matters, while building strong working relationships.
  • Perform other duties if required.
Qualifications
  • A degree in computer science, statistical analysis, business, human resources or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an Information Technology environment including demonstrated ability to lead small to mid-size initiatives Formal certification in the area of expertise is desirable.
  • Certified Business Analysis Certificate is required.
  • Advanced ability to manage business intelligence related projects including the development of strategic reports, incorporation of information and the application of various analytical methodologies and techniques in a team setting.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and be proficient in: CORITY, Microsoft Office suite, TEAMS, Power BI Qlik, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong working knowledge and application of Excel, Access, and HRMS skills and the use of other statistical application software is required.
  • Must possess excellent analytical and statistical problem-solving skills with knowledge of trend analysis, statistical analysis and interpretation and, research design and methodology.

  • As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
Hours of Work:40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
