Job Description
Job purpose
To fabricate any metal needed for any prosthesis made for a patient's oral cavity
Duties and responsibilities
Listed are the primary job duties and responsibilities
Evaluate prescriptions
Fully read and understand the doctor's prescription before starting the case
Evaluate scheduling and preferences/notes
Read and complete tasks by the end of the scheduled date. Read and understand any preferences before starting task
Fabricating metal for prosthesis
Evaluate and correct models of any discrepancies Wax any structures and components needed for the prostheses Invest and prepare wax for casting Fit, trim and finish/sandblast metal Adjust and weld any deficiencies in the metal Ensure all work completed meets Shaw standards and adjust/remake as required Clean any debris off the final models and product Complete all assigned work
Team work
Work with other employees and supervisor to make the department function effectively Assist others with their tasks if yours are completed Share any extra materials within the department to prevent excessive waste
Working conditions
Job requires working in a fast paced environment and requires doing some tasks that need to be rushed to meet client return times.
Physical requirements
Physically, the job requires sitting for extended periods of time.
