Your Opportunity at ARC\'TERYX:

As a Merchandise Planning Analyst, you play an important role in the Merchandise Planning Organization in providing data driven inputs into all strategic planning decisions. You participate in the S&OP (Open to buy) process and provide data-driven insights to support action-oriented decision making. Your ability to build reports and transform datasets will support our Strategic Business Plan (SBP) growth strategies.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Merchandise Planning team is a cross functional group whose focus is to continuously drive sales and margin, while mitigating inventory risks by finding the balance between the right product, at the right quantity, in the right place, at the right time. \

If you were a Merchandise Planning Analyst now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Building and sharing executive level reports to highlight weekly sales performance and seasonal trends
  • Building sales and inventory reports that allow Product teams to create strategic data driven actions
  • Building out the seasonal workbench to set the Merchandise Planning team up with all required data and tools to enable accurate and efficient buy planning
  • Supporting in sharing topline sales targets through important seasonal stage-gate meetings
  • Collaborating closely work with Finance teams to ensure product sales plans are maintained with close alignment to financial sales targets
  • Working closely with Merchandise Planners to improve forecast accuracy at model and article level
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association\'s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc\'teryx supply chain
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
  • Analyzing and building product sales curves from planning category down to model-colour level
  • Finding incremental wins in how we efficiently buy and allocate product to stores though productivity metrics
  • Leveraging current known statistical forecasting methodology to improve on existing processes and create new tools
  • Working closely with our Data & Analytics team to buildout data and reporting roadmaps to set us up for the future
  • Helping to develop our AI models within the Product organization
  • Presenting data and findings to the executives
Are you our next Merchandise Planning Analyst?
  • You have a University degree in math, economics, statistics, finance, business, or the equivalent
  • You have a minimum of 3 years\' experience in data analysis, sales reporting, or the equivalent
  • You have advanced Excel skills, including a solid understanding of Power Query, PowerPivot and Macros
  • You have experience using dashboards such as Power BI, Analysis for Office (AFO) or the equivalent
  • You have outstanding analytical abilities, combined with strong business acumen
  • You are able to master the numbers and drive change with your findings
  • You have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • You have strong organizational skills, with an excellent attention to detail
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions using keen business acumen and priority judgement, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
