Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria is a non-profit agency providing mentoring programs for children and youth in the Victoria Capital Region. We are currently looking for a highly organized, efficient, caring, and committed individual to work as a Mentoring Coordinator in our group program- PRISM (Pride, Respect, Identity, Safety, Mentoring)
Under direct supervision of the Team Lead and reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Mentoring Coordinator is responsible for tasks related to match management and support, related administration, group program facilitation, and general tasks associated with the job. The Mentoring Coordinator will be responsible for managing their own case load as well as working collaboratively in a team setting.
This program is designed to work with youth and mentors who identify as part of a community of 2SLGBTQIA+ members and ideally the mentoring coordinator is a strong ally and has lived experience within the same community.
Qualifications:
Min 2 years post secondary education in social/human services, education etc. Completion of a 4 year post secondary degree in a related field will be considered an asset.
Criminal Record check including vulnerable sector will be required by successful applicant.
Skills:
Experience working with children, families and volunteers
Experience working in and leading groups for children's programs
Time management, data management, computer skills, organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and work efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage high volume, time sensitive workload
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, coaching and problem solving skills required.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
