We have an exciting opportunity for a positive, creative person to join the team at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley. We're seeking a
full-time Mentoring Coordinator
to join our passionate team--someone who is especially skilled in
supporting and nurturing mentoring relationships
. In this role, you'll focus on the heart of our work: ensuring that our matches between children and volunteer mentors are safe, meaningful, and fulfilling for everyone involved.

What you will be doing:
Provide ongoing support
to matches through regular check-ins with mentors, mentees, and families to ensure relationships remain strong, safe, and rewarding
Coach volunteers
through challenges and successes, offering guidance, encouragement, and resources as needed
Monitor match progress
and outcomes, addressing any concerns early and proactively.
Facilitate group and match-based activities
, building community and shared experiences between matches
Collaborate with colleagues
to create a holistic support network around each child and volunteer
Document case notes a24nd updates
in a timely, professional manner in accordance with agency standards
Maintain accurate case files and database records
to track match milestones and outcomes.
Celebrate match successes
, milestones, and closures in ways that honour the impact of each mentoring relationship
Building relationships with other service providers and resources to further assist the children, youth, families and volunteers they support
Participate in regular team meetings and agency initiatives, including fundraising and community engagement activities as needed
What you bring:
You have a minimum 2-year post-secondary diploma with related work experience (required) or you have a bachelor's degree in social sciences or humanities (preferred)
You have 1 to 3 years direct program delivery experience working with children and families
Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) skills
You are a well-organized, mature, self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team
You have a demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with diverse individuals and communities
You have knowledge of child/adolescent development and experience supporting mentoring or developmental relationships.
You are organized, flexible, and able to balance administrative tasks with direct support work.
You ae skilled in using Microsoft Office, databases, and communication tools (experience with case management systems is an asset
You are available to work occasional evenings to accommodate family and volunteer schedules
You have a valid driver's license and access to a car for out-of-office appointments
