Your Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Therapist Provincial to join our team at Red Deer Adult Addiction and Mental Health. Reporting to the Manager and Clinical Supervisor the ideal candidate will have experience providing individual counselling, crisis intervention, and group psychotherapy to adults with a range of mental health challenges. You would be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, be skilled in providing mental health interventions within a stepped care model, and when needed co-develop group material. Treatment knowledge and skill set must encompass both addictions and mental health while demonstrating the ability to exercise a variety of clinical modalities. The role will include a caseload of one to one clients, facilitating group psychotherapy and may include shifts at our walk-in single session clinic. At times, there may be a requirement to work within a community agency in Red Deer. There is an expectation of open practice where you work collaboratively with co-workers through participation in observed sessions. Your therapy skills will be regularly observed by your peers, and you will regularly observe the therapy offered by other team members to promote learning and develop clinical skills within a team environment.

Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:
