Your Opportunity:Adult community services addiction and mental health is seeking a Mental Health Therapist (MHT) to support the addiction and mental health needs of the Northeast Community Health Center's (NECHC) clientele. A mental health therapist at NECHC will support family and emergency clinics located in the facility. In addition, routine referrals and initial assessments are routed through Access 24/7. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of addiction and mental health diagnoses with experience providing treatment for these complex needs. This candidate will be able to manage and to navigate multiple demands and a high case load while working within a strong concurrent disorder team. The successful candidate will be skilled in both case management and providing treatment. For example, a MHT can be providing Cognitive behavioral treatment in a 1-1 session, then in the next hour navigating a Community Treatment Order (CTO) with a nurse, a psychiatrist and a community pharmacy for a client who has not attended their appointment. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of Psychotherapy. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (RN/RPN) with a related Master's degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy, or considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of Psychotherapy. Minimum 3 years of relevant mental health experience.
