Your Opportunity:The Mobile Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (M-RAAM) provides non-judgmental, rapid access, to a variety of addiction medicine services in the City of Red Deer. These services are part of an evidence-based care model that promotes recovery, as identified by the individual, for people living with substance use and addiction challenges. The M-RAAM is a facility that provides comprehensive care for substance and behavioral/process addiction concerns by addressing service gaps and offering alternatives to traditional service models, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach. The M-RAAM offers wrap-around services such as medical supports, addiction counselling, psychoeducational groups, relapse prevention, short term counselling, access to social work and referrals to social and recovery-oriented services such as residential treatment, detox, housing etc. This position requires work in the mobile trailer (M-RAAM site) with touchdown and counselling space located offsite at South Gaetz Medical Centre. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:Completion of a master\'s degree in psychology; a bachelor\'s degree in social work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention; a master\'s or bachelor\'s degree in occupational therapy with similar educational components; a bachelor\'s degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling; or a bachelor\'s degree in psychiatric nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:Expert knowledge of co-occurring health needs (addiction and mental health) is required. Knowledge and experience using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V). Current Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Employer-provided training in Suicide Risk Management. Employer-provided training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Must have 3- 5 years\' experience working with vulnerable populations including those with addiction and mental health concerns. Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of trauma informed care in all interactions with clients. It is also a requirement that the incumbent is physically able to respond to behavioural/clinical emergencies that may occur anywhere in the building. Preferred Qualifications:Certification specific to one or more evident-based psychotherapies preferred (individual and group).
