Job Description

Weekday and weekend rotation (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

The Rehabilitation Worker I will engage and work with clients on an individual basis to achieve goals. The Rehabilitation worker will use hands-on training techniques, supporting and encouraging clients on a daily basis to improve life skills, social/ interpersonal relationships, effective use of leisure time, encourage participation in events, the development of natural friendships and to take responsibility for their personal wellness.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:



Monitor the Drop-in area as required. Ensure Drop-in rules and guidelines are being properly adhered to. Establish therapeutic relationships with clients. Answer client questions and provide assistance as required. Advocate for clients. Monitor client compliance with medication regimes, if applicable. Respond to crisis situations as they arise and forward the Crisis Incident Report to the Clinical Manager. Engage the client in daily activities using engagement techniques based on the individual's strengths, interests, etc. and to encourage and support the client to achieve their optimum level of functioning. Maintain confidential client files and records. Participate in community education or community related activities and/or community development activities. Support the client to participate in social and recreational activities. Implement and facilitate activities. Coordinate services with the Cooperative Care Centre.

Qualifications:


Education, Training and Experience:



Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant, health-related discipline of study preferred. Two years' experience working in a health-related field is preferred. Experience working with unhoused population is preferred. Current First Aid and CPR certification required. Course/workshop in concurrent disorders or equivalent (SMART Recovery Facilitator Training) preferred. Workshop in motivational interviewing preferred A valid Ontario Driver's Licence, access to a vehicle, and vehicle insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability preferred. Demonstrated crisis intervention skills/experience. Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector police records check Ability to work within Mental Health Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidelines, Psychosocial Rehabilitation Practitioner's Code of Ethics, Best Practices, LLGAMH program standards.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $24.50-$25.76 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
