Credit serves as the primary point of contact for Credit Union members or potential members applying for loans. This role is responsible for guiding members through the loan application process, reviewing applications for completeness, collecting required documentation, and ensuring a smooth transition to underwriting. The officer also plays a key role in establishing new memberships, opening accounts, and promoting loan products and services.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the liaison between members and the credit underwriting team.
Review loan applications for accuracy and completeness.
Follow up with members to collect required documentation and provide updates on application status.
Upload loan applications into the LOS - ProLender.
Assist new members with account opening and membership establishment.
Promote and explain loan products and services to members, identifying opportunities to meet their financial needs.
Maintain accurate records of member interactions and loan application progress.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide exceptional customer service and build strong member relationships.
Other Responsibilities
To monitor the department phone and email responding to member/potential member's inquiries and escalating as appropriate.
Data Entry to ensure loan details on the Banking System are up to date and accurate.
Review and update existing loan records to support FSRA's Enhanced Data Collection initiative.
Act in the absence of the Loan Administrator to input and post new loans.
Any other duties that may be assigned within the scope of Member Services Representative - Credit.

College or university degree preferred.
At least 2 years of financial services industry experience or equivalent (credit union experience preferred)

Ability to use good judgement to effectively prioritize work.
Member Contact
Office-based with regular interaction with members in person, by phone and electronically.
Impact on Decisions
Attention to detail in the loans area will have a moderate to high, positive or negative impact on the credit union's revenue, income, capital, and liquidity, and a high, positive or negative impact on the member experience. Therefore, this role carries some operational risk.
Nature of Supervision
The position reports to the Vice President of Credit, under the supervision of the Credit Specialist and dotted line reporting exists.
Freedom to Act
In the Member Services Representative (Credit) may take instructions from the Credit Specialist operating within the established policy and procedural framework.
Subordinates
The role has no direct reports.
