MS is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system affecting people mainly between the ages of 20 and 49, the most productive years of life. Patients are subject to unpredictable symptoms leading to accumulation of disability and challenges such as unemployment. You will play a critical role in external peer-level discussions and developing a network of HCPs for partnership, while helping the team to understand unmet medical needs and barriers for the implementation of our assets in clinical practice and healthcare systems. You influence and strongly collaborate with different functions to support business priorities and demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset.
As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) you will be part of the multi-functional team responsible for execution and implementation of the Neuroscience medical strategy aligned with business priorities.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Create a network of peer-to-peer scientific relationships and developing a network of HCPs for partnership
  • Provide and discuss scientific information and data to ensure concepts are understood and information / insights are gathered to better inform Novartis research and set the overall strategic direction for the company
  • Develop and execute engagement plans that demonstrate an ability to stringently prioritize and strategically engage MEs aligned with business priorities
  • Liaise and provide up-to-date medical information to relevant external groups to ensure evidence-based understanding of Novartis products relative to medical guidelines, and health economic information
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mind set and ability to work within a cross-functional team in a matrix environment
  • Be agile and adaptable to interface and provide value across a continuum of both internal and external stakeholders

Minimum requirements
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring to the role:
  • MD, PharmD, PhD or other life sciences degree with solid medical/technical background and proven competencies influencing skills, clinical research insight, business and market knowledge.
Previous experience as an MSL.
Scientific expertise in the therapeutic field (MS/Neurology) is highly desired.
  • A proven ability to develop and foster peer-to-peer, credible relationships with Medical Experts/decision makers and ability to synthesize complex scientific information and analyze it within strategic and regulatory settings.
  • Strong personal integrity and customer focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and advanced presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and French is a must.
  • Familiarity with reimbursement processes in Canada
Travel: up to 70% of the time - Ability to work independently
