Medical Receptionist/admin Assistant With Ophthalmic Tech Support

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic healthcare team?Southwest Alberta Eye Centre is a solo practice modern professional specialist office in Lethbridge, Alberta providing comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology (eye) care. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team-oriented support staff as a full time (minimum 30 hours per week), hourly paid, medical receptionist and administrative assistant

to cover a maternity leave with the potential for a permanent position after the coverage period ends. This role will also involve ophthalmic technician responsibilities. The successful applicant should be well-organized, professional, hard-working, discrete with patient information, able to multi-task, and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:



Reception and Administrative Support:

Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and professional experience. Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries. Maintain patient records and update information in our system. Assist with billing and insurance claims as needed. Manage office supplies and assist in general office administration.

Ophthalmic Technician Support:

Assist with preliminary testing for patients, including visual acuity, tonometry, and other basic diagnostic tests. Prepare patients for exams with the ophthalmologist and provide support during exams as necessary. Ensure medical equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.

Requirements:



Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred but not required.

Must be a citizen of Canada or Canadian resident.

Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. A team-oriented attitude with a desire to learn. Previous experience or an interest in ophthalmology or medical technology is an asset, but full training will be provided.

Must live in Lethbridge or surrounding area.
