The successful candidate will provide reception services to clients of the Lakehead Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic.
About the Clinic:
The Lakehead Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (LNPLC) is a primary care clinic focused on providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Our team of NPs, RN, RPNs, dietitian, social workers, and pharmacist, which work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive care to individuals in the Thunder Bay area.
Key Responsibilities:
Greeting and checking in patients
Scheduling and rescheduling appointments (phone and in person)
Scanning documents into EMR
Opening and distributing mail accordingly
Responding to emails, Microsoft teams, and EMR messages as required
Keep reception and waiting room area tidy
Other duties as assigned
Education, Qualifications and Skills:
Experience as a Receptionist in primary care or healthcare setting
Excellent in person and telephone etiquette skill
Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality
Proficient in data entry and scanning
Attention to detail
Experience working with EMR data and administration a definite asset
Ability to work independently and with a team and in a busy work environment
One to Two years of experience as receptionist
Ability to work independently and with a team and in a busy work environment
Graduate of a Medical Secretarial Program or related administration course an asset
Additional Job Requirements:
Satisfactory criminal records search including vulnerable sector screening.
Up to date on vaccinations (including MMR and Covid) -
must provide immunizations and Covid vaccination records
