We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative duties efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical l office procedures, proficiency with electronic medical records, and excellent communication skills to ensure smooth daily operations within a busy medical or dental practice.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using Epic and Dentrix systems
Collect insurance information, process payments, and handle billing inquiries
Maintain organized front desk operations, including filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling
Assist with administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and correspondence
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Coordinate with medical or dental staff to facilitate patient flow and support clinic operations
Qualifications
Prior experience in a Medical Office setting preferred
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Telus EMR preferred or other EMR systems
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
Experience working with multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
Previous office experience in healthcare settings is highly desirable
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor
