Job Description

Our Family Medicine Doctor's and Pediatrician's Office is located at the Boardwalk Medical Center 1 in Waterloo and provides care for patient's belonging to Dr. Manigeh Azadeh and Dr. Jan Piskorz as well as for Pediatric Respirologist Dr. Jason McConnery, Paediatrician Dr. Cara MacRae, and Paediatrician Dr. Rebekah Bauman. We provide a broad scope of medical services for people of all ages and cultures.

One of our two current medical office administrators will be leaving the office around Nov/Dec 2025 on Maternity Leave so we are currently looking to bring on an additional medical office administrator/ receptionist to work with us full time, with a good possibility of becoming a permanent position going forward. We are hoping to bring in the new staff around Mid-Late Nov 2025 so that they can receive training from our outgoing staff to be comfortable going foward.

The new employee will have job responsibilities including answering phone calls to the office from patients, booking appointments, posting labs/medical reports into doctor's charts, communicating with other healthcare providers including hospitals/specialist's offices/law offices, responding to emails, and advocating for patient care.

Our office currently generally runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30am to 4:30am and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30am until 1:00pm. Some times the Pediatricians will stay until 5:00pm on a Wednesday or Friday. Additionally, the doctor's are "on call" periodically which would include the office being open from 5-8pm on week nights and 1-4pm on weekends once every few weeks which is a shared role amongst our team of office staff (roughly 1x/ 2-3 weeks). We are looking for someone who can work this schedule.

Our office uses an electronic medical record called PS Suite for the majority of our documentation and so familiarity with this software is highly recommended as well as prior experience working in healthcare/reception roles however we do provide significant on site training.

The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills. We provide care to immigrants, disabled, and elderly patients and so being able to clearly communicate medical concepts and advice to patients is required.

Financial compensation will be dependant upon the candidates work experience and growth in the office. We anticipate there will be a learning curve with office responsibilities and as such financial compensation will adjust with time but anticipate a starting rate of about $20.00/hour.
