Reports to: Manager, Clinical Services

Purpose of the Role The Medical Office Administrator is accountable for the effective and efficient coordination of the patient workflow (or patient care) relating to the medical practitioners and other clinical staff in the LifeLabs Clinical team, in addition to the provision of administrative support to the team. The Medical Office Assistant will liase with various LifeLabs multidisciplinary departments in order to get various tasks done.

This is a casual temporary part-time role for weekends for 12 months.

Core Accountabilities

  • Create and maintain accurate medical records in an Electronic Medical Record, in order to support the clinical team, which includes but is not limited to nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians.
  • Facilitate positive report call out for the Clinical team by organizing files in applicable software (e.g.: EMR, LaunchPad). This may include scheduling appointments and ensuring effective communication.
  • Answer phone calls and deal with inquiries from customers.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and documentation, as required.
  • Ensure controlled documents and records are maintained according to accreditation requirements.
Minimum Qualification and Skills
  • High School Diploma
  • Medical Office Administrator certificate or training would be considered an asset
  • 1 year of previous administrative experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Well versed with MS Office
  • Should be available to work Satuday and Sundays only
