Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Perform daily laboratory tasks as assigned by the Laboratory Director or Administrative Director Draw and process patient bloodwork accurately and efficiently Ensure patient comfort and maintain professionalism during phlebotomy procedures Label and document all specimens correctly, ensuring accurate patient identification Assist in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment Monitor and restock laboratory supplies; request reorders as needed Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff to ensure timely test results Maintain proper infection control and safety procedures in the lab Prepare and update patient orientation booklets and training materials Assist with staff training and onboarding of new team members

Qualifications:



Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician or Phlebotomy program Certification with MLPAO or CSMLS preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or fertility laboratory setting an asset Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Proficient with basic computer applications and laboratory equipment Mature, reliable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Availability to rotate between sites and work occasional weekends or holidays as needed.
