Position: Medical Laboratory Assistant

Department: Laboratory

Status: Permanent Part Time (Must provide availability of up to 0.5 FTE)

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating shifts (4 hour and 7.5 hour evenings, days and nights) (Hours subject to change based on operational requirements)

Site: Oakville (Milton & Georgetown as required)

This is what you\'ll be doing:

Responsible for all duties related to specimen collection and processing, data entry, referral specimens and office duties.

• Laboratory Assistant Certification required
• MLPAO / OSMT certification required
• 2 - 5 years recent experience in phlebotomy
• 2 - 5 years recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• Knowledge of laboratory computer systems
• Medical Terminology Certificate
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with the public
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
