Job Responsibility:
Receive incoming patients for specimens collection, reviews all necessary paperwork is complete and accurate and engages customers privately to verify information
Ensures a safe, comfortable, efficient and personalized experience with specimen collection
Performs COVID 19 sample collection by means of Nasopharyngeal (NP Swab), Saliva, Anterior Narre, or blood draw. Samples will be rapid tested on site using approved Health Canada Authorized Testing
Verify COVID-related specimen type; sort and assign laboratory numbers to specimens.
Prioritizes safety by demonstrating appropriate infection control, equipment maintenance and quality control, etc. per assigned procedures and protocols.
Ensures high-quality assurance and regulatory compliance by abiding with assigned procedures and protocols.
Travel between different collection sites to perform sample collection.
Conduct testing for samples.
Prepares results for reporting.
Performs other duties as required

Qualification:
Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent related experience such as working as a healthcare professional with previous training or experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion and/or intravenous therapy (e.g. nurses, infusion therapist, cardiac technologist etc.).
One (1) year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrate ability to operate related equipment and use related software.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, manage time and work independently.
Note: You will be trained at our head office in Burnaby, then work at Surrey.
