Job Purpose:




As the Medical Head, Oncology at GSK, you will be a pivotal leader within our Medical division and Canadian organization, driving therapeutically aligned Medical Affairs Teams to craft and execute patient-centric medical strategies. Your strategic input will be crucial to our enterprise plan, ensuring the successful launch, appropriate use, and timely access to our oncology portfolio in collaboration with our commercial partners. Representing Canada on the Global Oncology Leadership Team, you will ensure that Canada, one of GSK's nine priority countries, has a strong voice in global oncology strategies.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategically aligned Oncology Medical Affairs plans, including comprehensive External Engagement Plans across Canada. Act as Canada's representative on the global leadership team, ensuring Canadian perspectives are integrated into global oncology plans. Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial Leadership Team Partners (marketing, sales, reimbursement) to identify external expert and patient needs, developing innovative strategies and solutions for optimal product launches and patient use of GSK medicines. Work closely with Clinical Development teams and the Global Franchise to ensure alignment of clinical trial plans, evidence planning, and data generation with brand strategies. Oversee the development of GSK-supported and investigator-sponsored studies. Partner with Regulatory Affairs to ensure filing strategies and product labeling are sustainable and optimal for the Canadian market. Represent GSK Medical Canada Oncology with external bodies, including physician and patient organizations. Provide expertise on competitor products, contributing to commercial strategy and marketing plans with technical accuracy and balanced information. Identify and manage compliance issues related to governance and risk management. Actively participate in the Medical Division leadership team and Pharma Directors circle, collaborating with directors across the enterprise.

Basic Qualifications:



Master's Degree with significant industry experience, or a PhD/MD. Oncology experience preferred but not required. 10 years of progressive experience in a related field/function, including leadership roles. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry leading a Medical Affairs Team.

Preferred Qualifications:



Bilingual (English and French) written and verbal skills. PhD or MD. Deep understanding of drug development, regulatory, and commercialization processes, including clinical trial development. Strong knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and key trends, issues, opportunities, and stakeholder/payor priorities. Proven ability to collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders internally and externally. Strategic thinker capable of developing and executing complex strategies while balancing short- and long-term goals. Ability to understand business strategy and translate it into market access strategies that support corporate objectives. Strong portfolio management skills, with the ability to navigate project trade-offs. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and achieve results through others, set ambitious objectives, and engage in constructive debate. Proactive, resilient, trustworthy, and willing to challenge the status quo. Solution-oriented with a creative approach to problem-solving. Thorough knowledge of the GSK portfolio is an asset.
