Learn more atThe Medical Affairs Operations Lead will partner with the National and Regional Medical Education Managers (NMEM/RMEMs) and the Medical Education Digital Content Lead to develop and coordinate key multi-channel tactical education solutions that ensure the achievement of the Therapeutic Area\'s strategical educational vision, in alignment with the Medical Affairs leaders and with a focus on program process strategy.The Medical Affairs Operations Lead will build and sustain organizational education capabilities to ensure activities are aligned with laws, regulations, policy, and Corporate Compliance objectives. The Medical Affairs Operations Lead will follow project management principles to maintain key milestones on achievement of operational excellence of medical education goals and objectives (Key Performance Indicators). The Medical Affairs Operations Lead will collaborate with internal and external partners, handle the contractual arrangements, compliance approvals, and budget reviews for medical education events, as well as lead the end-to-end PO process with vendors, including preparation of budget recommendations. This position is designed to create greater project management oversight for each medical education program and identify commonalities or areas of opportunity to capitalize on process efficiencies.Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership

  • Lead the developmental process of the Medical Education plan, ongoing execution, and budgeting of initiatives, including speaker tours, advisory boards, symposia, conferences, and other tactics as required by the Medical Integration Team (MITs)
  • Align with the NMEM and/or RMEM on the objectives and resources required to develop and implement the national and regional medical education plans
  • Oversee the end-to-end Other Learning Activity (OLA) development process
  • Develop relationships with relevant KOLs to support the development of educational assets or activities (as required and in collaboration with RMEM)
  • Coordinate Faculty and Steering Committee management
  • Lead all aspects of Vendor Management, including selection, briefing, and oversight
  • Submit and manage all related OLA documents into the internal approval systems (iMR, iCEM)
  • Complete and submit compliance review forms in adherence with national and international guidelines.
  • Organize and lead Train-the-Trainer events, when applicable
  • Partner closely with the Health Care Engagement team
  • Develop Field Communication plans (Pre-event plan, Event registration updates and Post event summaries) in coordination with NMEM and/or RMEM
  • Manage accredited programs submitted via Educational Grant portal, including liaising Grants Coordinator and CPD liaison
Operational Leadership
  • Administration of POA process-updates to event lead (NMEM, RMEM or Med Dir)
  • Establish and present Project Briefs to agencies
  • Review agency project and budget proposals
  • Request and lead departmental POs and Vendor SOWs
  • Support budget owner with reconciliation review of events
  • Lead preferred vendors (new/renewal), approval, MSA/HCC process and oversight
  • Manage contracts for steering committee and speakers
Customer Advocate
  • Understand the needs of the medical education functional area and underlying business processes, needs, and opportunities via collaboration with NMEM/RMEM
  • Enlist other SMEs from the organization and/or Therapy Area(s), as needed
Communicator and Trend Identification
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive programs, and proprietary data for practical insights to incorporate into educational solutions
  • Communicate trends/findings related to the development of medical educational channels
  • Articulate clear priorities to internal Med Ed partners
QualificationsEducation:
  • A minimum of a university degree is required, preferably in sciences, medical or related health sciences subject area
Experience and Skills:Required:
  • A minimum of 5 years\' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or medical education/educational field
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to showcase leadership of cross-functional project team members
  • Understanding of agile ways of working and project management principles
  • In-depth knowledge of IMC Code of Ethical Practices and other Healthcare Compliance and Pharmacovigilance policies, standards, and procedures
  • Experience in continuous improvement and or quality improvement processes
  • Ability to evaluate metrics and results to optimize efficiencies and share best in class practices
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workflow activities to meet tight deadlines
  • Superior level of attention to detail and excellent problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to make decisions specific to business needs
Preferred:
  • Demonstrated abilities in the following areas: managing complexity, innovative thinking, verbal and written communications and effective time and budget management
  • Demonstrated experience on organizational change and adoption
  • Proficiency in metrics and reporting, creating dashboards and scorecards, and communicating complex information at the right tone and breadth
  • Confirmed examples of leadership, high learning agility, critical thinking and intellectual curiosity in the development of marketing and/or educational projects
  • Knowledge of the medical education area
  • Experience with medical education program development and application of adult learning theory
  • Completion of a course in Continuing Medical Education or CPD (i.e., CCPE)
  • English and French bilingualism
