Position Overview

Information Technologies is currently seeking four (4) Full-time Regular Media Technicians.

Reporings to the Manager, Classroom Services. Work is varied with occasional high volumes. Work on occasion requires independent judgment in selecting an appropriate course of action within prescribed procedures and guidelines.

A variety of schedules are open including those with evening and weekend requirements.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Delivers, sets up, and returns equipment to designated areas according to activity sheets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operates and maintains equipment to ensure effective customer service
  • Troubleshoots and fixes minor equipment and cabling issues
  • Reports major repair issues to Technical Unit through Service Now
  • Maintains up to date inventory of equipment
  • Maintains a safe working environment and reports unsafe conditions to the appropriate authorities
  • Accurately keeps track of locations of media equipment
  • Takes customer requests and enters information into booking system without error
  • Plans for the next day\'s activities
  • Maintains accurate records
  • Keep up with changes in technology through mandatory and optional on-line training and hands-on experience
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Two years of experience with AV equipment, live audio, audio and video recording, computers and data projection systems.
  • Troubleshooting and basic repair ability.
  • Base knowledge of Window and Macintosh hardware and software.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labour work related to the equipment.
  • Completion of technical school studies in radio, television arts of broadcast technology at a recognized institution and/or relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver\'s license is required to drive a University vehicle (Alberta Class 5 or better, or equivalent)
