Reporting to the Director, CEO & Corporate Communication, the Media Relations Lead will manage corporate media relations initiatives to help drive targeted results that reach key audiences to support Nutrien\'s business priorities and bolster corporate reputation.

What you will do:

  • In partnership with our global team, lead integrated media relations strategies across CEO & Corporate Communications to drive business narratives and support the broader Brand & Culture Communications strategic approach and key narratives.
  • Deliver collaborative and constructive media strategies that reach target audiences to drive key messages in support of business priorities and reputation.
  • Prioritize outcomes in media relations efforts, with a keen interest and appreciation for metrics and data balanced with an understanding of business drivers.
  • Write strategic, creative content (speeches, LinkedIn articles and posts, video content, pitches, and more).
  • Work closely with agency partners, collaborating on strategy and execution.
  • Act as a mentor and subject matter expert across the Brand & Culture Communications team, lending counsel and support related to media relations and writing as needed.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, Business or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in communications.
  • Understanding of industry, with a focus on sustainable agriculture.
  • Demonstrated experience in a large corporate environment (global is preferred) and/or agency.
  • Experience supporting and collaborating with multiple stakeholders, preferably in an operational setting.
  • Exceptional at working with senior stakeholders at the ELT level.
  • Excellent curiosity, learning capacity and self-guided decision-making ability.
  • Superior writing skills.
  • Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and partnership.
  • Thought leadership experience.
  • Media relations experience.
  • Paid content partnerships experience.
