Role Overview



We are seeking a

Mechatronics Engineer

to design, integrate, and optimize the

mechanical, electrical, and control systems

that power SkyScouter's hybrid UAV platforms. You will play a key role in advancing UAV reliability, autonomy, and energy efficiency by developing

electromechanical systems

,

actuation mechanisms

, and

sensor-driven control logic

.

You'll collaborate closely with our

AI, flight control, and propulsion teams

to bring innovative hardware solutions to life -- from conceptual design to flight testing.

Key Responsibilities



Design and develop

mechatronic subsystems

for UAVs, including actuators, servomechanisms, gimbals, and control surfaces. Integrate

electrical, mechanical, and control components

into robust, lightweight drone assemblies. Collaborate on

hybrid propulsion

and

power management

systems for high-endurance UAVs. Work with

sensors (LIDAR, IMU, GPS, cameras)

and ensure proper data integration with flight controllers. Design and prototype mechanical assemblies using

CAD software (SolidWorks or Fusion 360)

. Develop and test

control algorithms

in

MATLAB/Simulink

or similar environments. Support

PCB design

and interface development for custom electronics. Conduct

system-level testing

, data analysis, and reliability validation for UAV performance. Work cross-functionally with robotics, software, and AI engineers to deliver integrated flight-ready systems.

QualificationsEducation



Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Mechatronics Engineering

,

Mechanical Engineering

,

Electrical Engineering

, or a related discipline.

Experience



3+ years of experience in

mechatronics design

,

robotics

, or

aerospace systems development

. Hands-on experience with

embedded systems

,

motor control

, and

sensor integration

.

Technical Skills



Proficiency in

SolidWorks

,

Fusion 360

, or similar 3D CAD tools. Knowledge of

C/C++

Python

, or

MATLAB

for control and automation. Familiarity with

ROS 2

Arduino

PX4

, or

ArduPilot

flight systems. Understanding of

electronics

PCB design

. Experience in

prototyping, testing

Desirable Skills



Background in

hybrid propulsion systems
