Job Description

Title: Mechanical/Chemical EngineerVanmok has an immediate opening for a permanent, fulltime, intermediate level engineer, whose main responsibilities will be to assist in field commissioning and deployment activities, customer support/success and onboarding.We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/Chemical engineer (NOC 2132) with strong initiative who thrives on the challenge of solving unique engineering problems. This individual will also work with a dynamic team to identify industry needs, develop proposals, perform and manage projects and communicate results to clients. The candidate will also be required to participate in field commissioning and deployment activities, customer support/success and onboarding.Responsibilities/Duties: (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Work closely under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
  • Develop tools for tracking pipelines process data for analysis and metrics reporting
  • Prepare and present summary reports, performance metrics reports, graphical representation and presentations, as required
  • Design components using 3D modeling software and print prototypes with 3D printers.
  • Review process flow drawings (PFD) and P&IDs to adapt Leak detection technology to various applications in upstream oil production systems.
  • Understand and optimize current processes in development of Leak Detection Systems
  • Assist in plan and spec analysis in order to provide clear, traceable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction
  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as built documents
  • Prepare models, drawings and sketches to support Engineering work as required
  • An outgoing people person who is willing to work with multiple different teams
  • Ability to multitask and enjoys challenging and demanding work
  • Can take charge of a situation with little guidance; can work independently and with teams
  • Someone who has experience working and interacting with customers is a bonus
  • Has experience working in a startup is a bonus, but not a requirement
  • Comfortable working as the liaison between various departments and customers
  • Support various technical, cost, and project management activities
  • Develop and Execute Management of Change
  • Analyzes operational performance through direct observation, interpretation of reports and collaboration with others.
  • Technical evaluations and review of engineering and operational issues (supervised by the Senior Engineer)
  • Support preparation of feasibility studies, capital and operating cost estimates, milestone schedules, cost profiles, development plans, risk analyses and conceptual and preliminary design work to support business development activities
  • Interact with multiple stakeholders and team members internally and externally
  • Investigates, resolves and/or escalates customer service issues, as appropriate.
  • Customer service skills necessary to effectively and professionally respond to requests and issues verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audiences and ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice
  • Ability to read, interpret and draw conclusions from numerical data and written information
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of relevant technology-based projects, including various devices and computer-based applications
Qualifications:
  • Mechanical/Chemical Engineering graduate
  • Excellent solid mechanics, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics background and knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, heat transfer
  • Experience with drawings and specifications, materials, and required standards
  • Experience with 3D modeling software is an asset , Creo Pro-Engineer preferred
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills and documented experience preparing, evaluating and reviewing comprehensive, highly technical proposals and reports;
