Responsibilities:





Design adaptation (3D modelling) based on preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, specification sheets and other data. Review plans and confer with internal stakeholders to meet project specifications, complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets. Installation, test and maintenance of products (before and after release) and compliance with safety and international standards. Support product designs from concept to production, especially during testing.


Key Responsibilities




+ Design and adapt custom products based on existing designs, preparing BOMs, cost estimates, equipment layouts, and complete technical documentation. + Coordinate and participate in design reviews and process hazard reviews with project stakeholders, collaborating cross-functionally with Production, Sales, Service, Applications, Purchasing, IT, and other teams to ensure project success.
+ Support product deployment from design through installation by assisting with manufacturing, testing, final inspection, field investigations, and recommending acceptance or rejection of completed designs.
+ Provide technical support across the organization, including production and service, contributing to cost-savings initiatives, design improvements, and operational efficiencies.
+ Develop and maintain engineering processes, standards, equipment specifications, and quality control practices to improve turnaround times and optimize engineering services.
+ Design, develop, manufacture, install, and test mechanical devices, jigs, tools, and equipment; perform and direct testing and quality assessments as required.
+ Create and maintain technical reports, calculations, sketches, and electronic drawings and files (e.g., Creo, STEP, DXF), and evaluate technical reports such as safety inspections and seismic assessments.
+ Demonstrate the accountabilities under Vidir's Risk Management System and Continuous Improvement Programs and lead by example.

Qualifications:




+ Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized institution + Substantial hands-on experience in mechanical design, documentation, and product support within a manufacturing environment
+ Proven experience applying mechanical technologist skills in design adaptation, troubleshooting, and product support
+ Strong technical and practical understanding of structural and transmission components
+ Troubleshooting and organizational skills
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and perform 3D modelling using Creo (or similar CAD software)
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills

Experience




Preferred2 - 5 years: Experience in a mechanical technologist, mechanical designer, or related role (manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment)

Education




PreferredTechnical/other training or better in Engineering or related field
