De Beers Group is seeking a proactive and organized Mechanical Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to support the Process Plant Mechanical Maintenance team at the Gahcho Kue Mine. This role is critical in coordinating resources, managing maintenance schedules, and ensuring the efficient execution of mechanical maintenance activities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage bi-weekly mechanical maintenance schedules using Prometheus Scheduler.
  • Coordinate resource availability and optimize crew assignments using Prometheus Capacity Planner.
  • Review and prioritize work orders daily to manage backlog and upcoming tasks.
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and other departments to align maintenance activities with production needs.
  • Create and track purchase requisitions for mechanical parts and services and manage spare parts tracking and returns with OEMs.
  • Monitor material availability using Prometheus Materials Coordinator to ensure timely work execution.
  • Maintain and update Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and checklists in SAP.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions for mechanical crews with internal and external providers.
  • Support contractor onboarding and manage site access logistics.
Reporting to the Process Mechanical Superintendent, role is based in the process mechanical department. This is a Gahcho Kue mine based position with 2 weeks in and 2 weeks out rotation with point of pick up Yellowknife or Calgary.
Qualifications
  • Certificate or diploma in Mechanical Technology, Office Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Background in mechanical maintenance planning or scheduling.
  • Familiarity with mining or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience with SAP PM, Prometheus Scheduler, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience in using multiple computer software or applications;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment; and
  • Ability to learn new computer software or web based applications; and
  • Motivated and Self-driven
