About the role
The Mechanical Intern uses their expertise in the definition, design and testing of medical device products as part of the development of EP ablation medical devices. As a member of EP's mechanical equipment design team in Montreal, they will contribute to development by designing and testing mechanical products for the delivery of treatment. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to take charge and direct studies.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating advanced CAD models of parts, assemblies and equipment using SolidWorks tools.
• Creating drawings in SolidWorks following internal Global Boston Scientific Corporation CAD standards and templates.
• Using CAD Database Management tool to track drawings, parts, assemblies' revisions and properties.
• Researching, developing, designing and evaluating mechanical and electro-mechanical material, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
• Conducting feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
• Developing new concepts from initial design to market release.
• Directing support personnel and coordinates project activities.
• Maintaining detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.

Required qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering Student or graduate.
• Required minimum years of experience: 2 years with CAD Software such as SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical engineering CAD skills, specifically with plumbing, tubing assemblies and sheet metal design using a CAD software.
• Solid lab experience with debug, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
• Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with a team efficiently and independently.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with geometrical tolerancing and CAD design.
• Experience with thermodynamics and flow analysis.
• Experience using Solidworks Electrical 2D schematic and 3D Routing.

Le stagiaire en genie mecanique met a profit son expertise dans la definition, la conception et les tests de produits de dispositifs medicaux dans le cadre de la mise au point de dispositifs medicaux d'ablation EP. Responsabilites

• Cree des modeles CAD avances de pieces, d'assemblages et d'equipements a l'aide des outils SolidWorks et SolidWorks Electrical.
• Cree des dessins dans SolidWorks conformement aux normes et modeles CAD internes de Global Boston Scientific Corporation.
• Utilise l'outil de gestion de base de donnees CAD pour suivre les dessins, les pieces, les revisions et les proprietes des assemblages.
• Rechercher, developper, concevoir et evaluer des materiaux, composants, assemblages, processus et/ou equipements mecaniques et electromecaniques.
• Effectuer des etudes de faisabilite pour verifier la capacite et la fonctionnalite.
• Developper des nouveaux concepts depuis la conception initiale jusqu'a la phase de production des produits.
• Diriger le soutien personnel et coordonner les activites du projet.
• Maintient une documentation detaillee tout au long de toutes les phases de recherche et de developpement.

Qualifications requises

• Baccalaureat en genie mecanique ou etudiant(e) en genie mecanique.
• Minimum d'annees d'experience professionnelle pertinente requis: 1 ans avec baccalaureat.
• Excellentes competences en modeles CAD avances de pieces, d'assemblages et d'equipements a l'aide des outils SolidWorks.
• Solides competences en genie mecanique, notamment en plomberie, en assemblages de tubes et en conception de tolerie a l'aide d'un logiciel de CAD.
• Grande experience en laboratoire avec le debogage, les montages et l'equipement de test.
• Excellentes competences organisationnelles, de communication et de collaboration.

Qualifications souhaitees

• Experience avec les moteurs, les engrenages et/ou les applications de commande de moteurs.
• Experience en prototypage rapide.
• Experience en tolerancement geometrique et analyse thermique.
• Experience en thermodynamique et analyse de flux.
• Experience de l'utilisation des schemas 2D et du routage 3D de Solidworks Electrical.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
